I haven't updated my blog.
Work has taken all the energy I have - I just want to sit and do much of nothing. I haven't even done my knitting. And my shawl is so close to being done! I will try and get back to posting tomorrow. Time for bed.

Fun Day!
What a fun day I had...I have lived here all my life and have never really gone to Georgetown! Well today I went with one of my daughters. We took Metro to Union Station - nope, never been there either! We did not stay there very long, I wanted to get to Georgetown. We hopped on one of those new DC connector buses, nice bus and only $1.00. We got off on Wisconsin and M Street. I had to go into Lush - I have been wanting to check that store out ever since my oldest daughter told me about it and brought me a couple of bath bombs. We smelled all the wonderful soaps, and creams. I ended up buying soap bar for hair made special just for hard water! Having well water recks havoc on my hair - never looks nice. Had to get a bar of soap and of course a couple of bath bombs.
We had lunch at Le Madelines - very good wild greens with chicken salad. We resisted the baked goodies - let my tell you, not easy! Off and walking again, we ooo'd and ahhh'd at many things in windows. I really wanted to go to the tattoo shop there - I am excited now - I saw a tat very close to one I want! Yay! There is about 4 I have in mind, but I need a jumping off point. I found at least one - I want to have one done on the small of my back to commemorate my children. I want three hearts, with a design on either side. Well, they have one there that has one heart with the perfect design! I need to find out if they can change it and incorporate two more hearts. Now I need to find a fairy sitting on a crescent moon and a dreamcatcher with a wolf and an eagle (to commemorate my husband).
After the tat shop, we found Stitch DC - nice place, love the yarn! I will be back.
I guess I should have mentioned even before we got on Metro, we had to make a stop at AC Moore for some yarn. I purchased 6 skeins of Homespun for a sweater and another skein for a bag.
Well, this is it for me today - at least I got something related to knitting in!

Well, ok I know it has been awhile since my last post.... Life gets in the way sometimes. Son had to work yet again on my laptop - where I keep all of my pictures. I can safely say it is now fixed. He upgraded the RAM and it cause a world of problems. I was getting error messages right and left. Come to find out, the chip was bad. He contacted the company, they were very helpful and sent a new chip to us, no questions asked. New chip in - laptop now works great. I recommend this online company to anyone needed puter parts. I won't post the name here, but if anyone is really reading my blog and is interested - leave me a message and I will give you the name.
Great news! My second oldest is engaged! I am very happy and excited for her. We now have a year and a half to get everything in order - good thing is, she has been planning for a year now and has quite a bit of it all figured out. Also she found this wonderful place in Annapolis for the wedding and reception. Hope to have an engagement picture soon to share - they are having those taken on Saturday.
On to knitting - I finished a practice dishcloth. Since it has been a while, I did not want to risk ruining a project, so I practiced my stitch on a dishcloth - nothing exciting - just the purl stitch. So now I have moved on to a shawl. So far so good - have about 7 inches done - simple K3-P3 pattern. The yarn is Red Heart Plush in eggplant - it's purple! My favorite. Already looking into what my next project will be - I know my hubby would like me to start working on sewing the living room drapes. Yeah, will see....."But honey, the fabric hasn't aged enough yet" *snicker*
That is a problem I have - I love to many different crafts - it is hard when you have a creative mind.
I will get some pictures up for the shawl once it get a little bigger.

Adventures in Knitting...
Yes, I know, it has been a while. I have had some computer issues with my laptop. I keep all of my pictures on the laptop and I wanted my next post to include my first finished project in 15 years! But first, I met some wonderful new friends today - I met them on Knitting Forum, and they are a very talented group of women. I learned that I was purling all wrong - Do'h! Well, I think I have the hang of it now, at least the dishcloth is looking more like the picture in the book. Thanks Lissa!
Ok, now I need to learn more about this blogging thing - I have been looking at everyone else's and they are so fancy! Give me time, I will figure it out - mark my words!!

Joining The Crowd
Well, it seems like everyone has a "blog" - thought I might as well join the craze. Whoo!
I think this will be mainly for craft talk - knitting, crochet, scrapbooking, jewelry making. Oh the list could go on and on - for now - Knitting!
Went shopping today - wanted to see what kind of yarns are available and where. ACMoore ins hands down on today's trip! I went to Wal-Mart and Michaels and was not as thrilled with the selection. I wasn't planning on buying anything other than circular needles - got those! Plus a couple of skeins of Peaches n' Cream cotton - 3 skeins of Red Heart Plush in eggplant. Picked up a number of those free patterns they have hanging on the shelves.
At Michaels I purchased a knitting book that looked rather interesting - Better Homes and Gardens Hip knits.
Well this will be it for my first post - more to come!
